Vinyl flooring, explained.

Understand luxury vinyl plank, vinyl tile and sheet vinyl before choosing a floor.

One category. Several different floors.

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) usually recreates wood in individual planks. Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) uses tile formats, often with stone or ceramic looks. Sheet vinyl comes in rolls and has a different seam, preparation and installation process. Start with the format and exact product rather than treating every vinyl floor as interchangeable.

What sits beneath the surface

A vinyl floor can combine a surface finish, wear layer, decorative film, core and backing. Some products include an attached pad; others specify an approved separate system. Overall thickness, wear-layer thickness and core construction describe different things. Compare the complete specification, intended use and written warranty.

Build your shortlist

Bring home samples. View them in daylight and evening light, beside cabinetry and trim. Ask for the exact collection, colour code, carton coverage, installation method and current instructions. Keep those details with your quotation so an alternative product cannot quietly replace the one you selected.

Bring it back to your space.

Keep approximate measurements, product details and open questions together. HAUSE can review your location and project scope.
