INSTALLATION

The details beneath a good floor.

Subfloor condition, moisture, movement and the instructions for your selected product.

Start with the exact installation document

Use the current instructions for the collection and installation method you are buying. Do not carry a temperature, expansion gap, flatness tolerance or acclimation rule from another floor into this project. Confirm any ambiguity with the manufacturer before work starts.

Clean, flat, dry and suitable

Check the substrate type, its condition and the specified flatness and moisture requirements. A new surface can show or respond to problems underneath it. Record the applicable test method and results, repair plan and approved underlay or adhesive. An attached pad does not remove the need for a suitable subfloor.

Think through the room edges

Discuss door clearances, transitions, stairs, appliance height and the junction with other floors. A floating floor needs the movement details its manufacturer specifies. Fixed cabinetry, islands and heavy objects may need special treatment; confirm those before ordering.

Inspect before installing

Check delivered cartons, colour, batch information and visible damage. Agree who handles defects, site measurements and shortages. Keep carton labels, receipts, photographs and the installation record. Follow the product instructions for furniture, rolling loads and first cleaning.
